BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Traci McFarlane is a Registered Clinical Psychologist in Georgetown, ON who has treated thousands of clients for mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance use, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She specializes in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments that help clients build resilience and achieve lasting change.
Over the course of her career, Dr. McFarlane has published more than 50 articles and book chapters, and has presented at numerous national and international conferences on evidence-based treatment, self-esteem, dieting, eating disorders, body image, and relapse prevention. She also co-authored a CBT workbook for patients with eating disorders, which has sold over 32,000 copies in North America and has been translated into Polish and Chinese.
Dr. McFarlane brings more than 20 years of clinical experience from the University Health Network (UHN), where she was the clinical team leader for the eating disorder program, and served as an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. She has mentored and supervised over 30 clinical graduate students from across Ontario for practicums and internships, as well as psychologists completing their registration for autonomous practice.
Recognized for her outstanding clinical skills, Dr. McFarlane received the UHN Award for Outstanding Contribution in Patient-Centered Care (2014). Her direct, authentic, and collaborative approach makes it easy for clients to engage in therapy and work toward their goals. She is passionate about helping others feel their best by providing the tools needed to move forward—whether that means a behavioural shift, emotional growth, or a new mindset.
